3.27.2008Frog or Felt Contest!
I'm pretty much done with Dogwood Donna, but...I hate it. At least on me. The arms are too tight (even though I made the armholes bigger), the sleeves are too short, the ribbing is too loose, and it just doesn't look good on me at all. I don't want to "make it work" (Hey, Tim Gunn!), so I'm left with two options.
![]() 1 - Frog it! If I frog it, I would have a billion little bits to deal with because of the intarsia. However, I'd be able to use the yarn for something else, which would be good, since it's pretty. If I decide to frog it, I might make Big Snugs (brown on the outside, green and yellow for the lining) for myself. 2 - Felt it! Another option is to felt it as-is (after weaving in the ends, of course) and make a small pillow for the front room. I think it goes with our color scheme pretty well. So...let me know! Leave me a comment by 6 PM CST on Monday, March 31st, for a chance to win a skein of the type of yarn I'm talking about frogging or felting: Araucania Nature Wool. The color is 51, a light lime-ish green. ![]() Updated 04.01.2008 And the winner is... Tina! Thanks for all of the suggestions. I really want to get this thing off of my needles, so I'll be reporting back as to what I decide to do with it. Stay tuned...

Felt it, then you don't have to deal with all the little pieces of wool and you have a beautiful pillow for your home.
I say felt it. I wouldn't want to have to deal with a bunch of little pieces of yarn, and if it goes with your color scheme than why not make a pillow.
I say frog. I have never been able to get the "I hate this so I'll felt it into something else" thing to work to my satisfaction. Then I look at the felting thing and think, "that was that thing I hated." The little pieces won't be too bad if you knit them into something else you'll felt, like those cute felted boots!
ah, what a hard decision! I think that ripping out intarsia would be a total beating, so I would say felt it into a pillow. At least you'd have something beautiful for your home instead of a headache and short little bits of yarn in a bag that just stared at you...oh the horror!!!
