FO: Mom's Hourglass

Pattern: Hourglass Sweater from Last-Minute Knitted Gifts
For: Mom for Mother's Day
Size: 40" bust
Yarn: 12.6 skeins Knit Picks Shine Worsted in Cream; .33 skeins Knit Picks Shine Sport in Grass for hems
Needles: US size 6 and 7 Knit Picks Options with metal tips
Timeline: started 04.18.2007; finished 05.05.2007

I was going over my projects for the past year and realized that I never made a FO post about this one, so...here goes. It definitely isn't my favorite FO, which sucks, since it was a gift. The Shine Sport was a horrendous choice for this. The sweater weighs a ton! It also stretched out a bit after it was knit and is definitely bigger than the size I knit, even after trying to shrink it down a bit in the dryer.

I did the hems the same as my first Hourglass, but used a contrasting color this time. I really like how they came out. My mom says she likes it, since it's soft and comfortable, but I'm not sure she's been able to wear it much. The arms are too long, it's too bulky in the body, and the body is too long, too. Boo...I'll have to make her a better gift next year.
