FO: droplet hat

pattern: droplet hat
source: knitting nature
for: me
yarn: 104 yds of some random indigo 2-ply wool from the farmer's market
needles: us size 7 knit picks options
timeline: started 10.11.2007; finished 10.13.2007

i did make some changes. i cast on with 7s because i have a big head and i knit tightly. i also knit it in the round, which was pretty easy. i have no idea why the pattern wasn't written that way. i did 2 purl rounds (before noticing that i was supposed to be knitting it flat), then one knit round (decreased 2 stitches to remove the two edge / seam stitches). i also did two sets of bobbles and 1x1 rib to give me a bit more length.

needless to say, this was a nice, quick knit. the sizing worked out pretty well. i needed to block it to give it even more length. i don't usually look all that great in hats and this really isn't an exception. it's ok, though, and should keep my head warm.

Comments:
Wow! This hat turned out totally gorgeous - it seems to have the perfect fit and I really, really love the pattern! Congratulations on a great accomplishment!

Hi- Your hat looks great! I love your double rows of bobble solution to needing more length. The hat is knit flat 'cause, although I always use circular needles, I like knitting flat. I have this theory that folks who love knitting in the round can easily change the pattern - and you are proving me right!
