::more cozy armchair socks (formerly: super mittens)
well, after trying to knit up a pair of mittens (the super mitten pattern from weekend knitting), i decided that the yarn* would be better used in another pair of socks (the cozy armchair socks pattern, also from weekend knitting). the mittens knitted up far too loosely to be practical during a chicago winter. i'll probably frog the mitten i have finished at some point. the pattern was a quick knit, though, so i might see if i have a bulkier yarn in my stash to use. ::skully skully was on a bit of a hiatus because i was frustrated with picking up stitches. however, i decided to try it again last night and just went for it. i only counted the stitches to make sure that i had the same number for the front and the back. i currently have about 10 stitches more than i should, but i'm going to do a few more inches (i only have one done so far.) to see if i want to decrease at all. ::future projects i'm planning on making this sweater for myself once i finish up the skully. however, i'm not letting myself buy the yarn for it until i've started the second sleeve. i mean it. hehe... beyond that, i really don't have anything planned. i have a bunch of noro kureyon and some bulky purple stuff from a farmer's market that i want to use. i'll probably end up doing a scarf. *note: i'm not really sure if i consider knitpicks' decadence a bulky yarn. it seems to knit up to more stitches per inch for me. however, it is very soft and the color i got (grape) is fabulous.
