more armwarmer updates
i finished the armwarmer that i started...yesterday? good times. i also cast on and did the first row of the second one in the set. yay! hopefully, i'll be able to finish that one on the bus ride home today and during my lunch tomorrow.
more armwamers and something for me
and i've moved on to yet another set of armwarmers. i'm using two strands of lion-brand wool-ease (in mink) held together, and they're going to be really cozy. i might even make myself something along those lines with this yarn. lovely stuff for winter.
also, i decided i need a really warm sweater, so i'm restarted for the second (third? fourth?) time the skully sweater from the first stitch 'n bitch book. i'm doing as much as i can (up to the armholes) in the round, so once i finish of the tiny bit of garter stitch on the bottom, it should go pretty quickly. plus, i don't have to count the rows because i just need to make sure it's the right length. yay!
over the weekend, i need to stop at joann and pick up some yarn for an armwarmer and scarf set i need to make.
xmas - armwarmer set finished
i finished the armwarmers i've been dragging my ass on lately. woo hoo!
i think i'll work on cathode on saturday while doing laundry. if i can get that finished this weekend, well...i'm sure the whole city will hear my shriek of delight.
after that, i'll probably just start on another set of armwarmers.
just a random update
i'm been sort of MIA ever since i finished that harry potter scarf. i think i just needed a break from the needles...or something.
anyway, i'm about 10 rows and two seams away from having a pair of armwarmers done for xmas. i'm using some cheapo cotton boucle from target and, although it's a bitch to knit with, i have to admit that i like how they're turning out.
in other knitting-related news, i ran across a new yarn store in the south loop called loopy yarns. i think the owner was being interviewed (while teaching the interviewer to knit!) while nadine and i were there. i walked out with a hank of yarn that i totally didn't need, but...it definitely could have been worse. hehe...
