8.29.2005a knitting epiphany...sort of
i've realized that i've been far too scattered with my knitting lately. i have a lot of projects on the go and i can't see an end to any of them. here's what i actually have on the needles at the moment:
- cathode sweater: this needs to be completed my xmas. i only need to do the ribbing on the collar, but i hate picking it up because i'm aggravated that it's too big on me. however, i need to just suck it up and appreciate the fact that i have a xmas present pretty much finished. - endless loop scarf: i'm using the really cheap brown wool yarn i got at stitches midwest. it's a really easy (only k, k2tog, and yo), so it's gone pretty quickly. i probably have about 20 more inches to go. good times. i actually brought this with me today, so it will be my lunchtime knitting project. - orangina: i have a few inches of this complete, but i need to check my guage. yeah, i know. i'm an ass. regardless, i'll have to frog an inch or two because i made a mistake. if my guage is off a lot, i'll need to decide whether to just alter the pattern or change needles. i really don't want to change needles, though, because i adore the addis turbos i've been knitting it with. - leaf pattern scarf: this is another xmas gift. the yarn is so fine that it's seriously driving me nuts. however, my mom suggested i just do the leaves at the very beginning and very end of it, so it should go much, much faster. - yoga mat bag: i think this is a little too big. however, i need to get a length of cord or something to weave through the top to really figure that out for sure. if i have to frog this, i'm going to freak out. so, my new plan is to focus on one project at work and one at home. my at-work one is the endless loop scarf. for at-home, i'm going to put the yoga mat bag on the side until i find some cord, and focus on the leaf pattern scarf. once i get a few more inches done, i'm going to try and block it a bit, since the leaves are pulling it a little more than i would like. if it still looks assy, i'll be frogging it and looking for another pattern to use the MC for.
