the go-everythere, go-with-everything cardigan
per nadine's mum's request, i'll be making this cardigan from the stitch 'n bitch book for her for xmas. luckily, that's quite a ways away, since it knitting on size 4 needles. it's knitting in 5 separate pieces, which might end up being a pain when i'm finishing it. however, i'll at least be able to take it with me on the el, since the individual pieces shouldn't be too big. skully this sweater is also from the snb book, but i'm knitting it for myself. i need to figure out what i want on the sleeves (if anything) and chart it out, since i don't think i can pull off the skull and crossbones thing. hehe...it's knit in 3 pieces, which isn't too bad, since i'll just have to attach the sleeves at the end. however, once i get a lot of the main part done, it won't really be travel-friendly. it'll definitely be a good fall project. a baby hat i'm not sure what pattern i'm going to use yet, but i bought 2 skeins of amazingly soft yarn that is just begging to be a baby hat. i may try the umbilical cord hat from the snb book. it looks like a good way to practice my double-point needle circular knitting, since i just tried that for the first time tonight and struggled a bit. plus, it seems to have very minimal finishing, since the top is an i-cord. a hat i may use some leftover yarn to make myself a hat. i'm debating between a conventional hat (hot head from snb) and the sparkle hat (once again, from snb). the sparkle one is definitely more interesting, and more of a challenge, but i'm not sure i can pull of huge sequins on a hat. a scarf or something similar i'm thinking of possibly making the windy city scarf (from snb), since it's small, which means it won't take up a lot of yarn and should knit of fairly quickly. however, the loopy velez cowl (from snb) looks pretty challenging and probably just as quick as the windy city scarf. plus, it's more unique, which is always a good thing. i'll need to see if i enough have any yarn to make it.
